What’s a BEAMbot you ask? BEAM robotics is a style of robotics that primarily uses simple analogue circuits, such as comparators, instead of a microprocessor in order to produce an unusually simple design. The underlying mechanism was invented by Mark W. Tilden. BEAM robots may use a set of the analog circuits, mimicking biological neurons, to facilitate the robot’s response to its working environment. (thanks Wikipedia)
I use them in my projects Sentient Commodity and (Bio)power grid, and I thought that maybe you would like to make a BEAMbot yourself since it is fairly simple and super fun. So here’s a how-to to build a vibrobot, made in collaboration with Vania Ryan. Have fun!
